LATEST NEWS AT KYRGYZ NATIONAL UNIVERSITY

On June 12, 2023, at the SAH of the main building, a meeting was held between the faculty of the university and Chinese PhD doctoral students who first came to KNU for offline studies and personal meetings with their supervisors. The head of the department of PhD doctoral studies Daniyar Dzhumaliev delivered a welcoming speech on behalf of the university administration. The head of the PhD program Ermeka Laylieva acquainted with the history of KNU, the features of the scientific and educational PhD doctoral program. The meeting was very constructive and fruitful.

On June 5, 2023, the international competition "Korean Lesson" was held in the capital of South Korea, Seoul, among teachers from Central Asia and Russia. Kyrgyzstan was represented by a 4th year student of the Faculty of Foreign Languages Kubat kyzy Elima. She demonstrated a high level of language proficiency, a vivid presentation, an attractive approach to teaching Korean, and won the 1st place! The faculty of foreign languages team congratulates their student on her victory and wishes her further success in learning and teaching the Korean language. We hope that Elima's victory in the international competition will be a source of inspiration for other students who want to learn Korean.

This time the changes affected the flowerbeds on the east and west sides of the main building, i.e. they also included monuments fenced in the garden opposite them. We all saw these monuments when we passed them by, not only the guests from the outside, but also the vast majority of the university staff did not know when, to whom they were placed, what were the names and who the authors were. Considering this situation, as soon as Tolobek Abdyrakhmanov became the rector of KNU, at the beginning of October 2022, the press service of the university photographed all the monuments and handed them over to the artist of the educational institution, Bolot Chegebaev, who was given the task to clarify the data with the help of pictures and names to monuments and authors.

On June 8, 2023, on the 3rd floor of the 3rd educational building, the opening of the Research Center "Artificial Intelligence" of the Institute of Fundamental Sciences took place. The red ribbon stretched in front of the center was cut by the head of the science department of the Ministry of Education and Science Zyldyzbek Dzhachylykov and the rector of the KNU Tolebek Abdyrakhmanov. After that, the participants of the ceremony got acquainted with the laboratories , "Applied Research and Robotics", "Artificial Intelligence and Big Data","R&D" (Research and Development)". Director of the Institute of Fundamental Sciences Amantur Ryspaev spoke about the structure of the center, the tasks assigned to it and the work that is being done.

On June 8, 2023, an international scientific conference “Political, socio-economic and ethno-cultural processes in Eurasia in the medieval period” was held at the LAH of the main building, organized by the Kyrgyz National University named after J. Balasagyn and SEC of Altaistics and Turkology "Great Altai" of Altai State University. The moderators of the meeting were: acting Director of the Institute of History and Regional Studies of the KNU Turatbek Syrdybaev and Head of the Department of Oriental Studies of Altai State University Yulia Lysenko. The participants of the event were welcomed by the rector of KNU Tolobek Abdyrakhmanov. He expressed his gratitude to all the guests who took the time to attend the conference. Then he added: - The ideas, goals and objectives of the conference are very relevant and important. I think that today interesting proposals and important decisions will be made. I hope that today's scientific forum will contribute to the development of the Great Altai project. The rector also thanked the president of Altai State University Sergey Zemlyukow and the former rector, now adviser to the rector Kanat Sadykov for their contribution to the opening of the Representative Center of the SEC of Altaic and Turkic Studies at KNU.

On June 5, 2023, events that related to the celebration of World Environment Day were held on the square in the large conference hall in front of the main building of the National University. An art installation resembling a gray house was installed in front of the monument to Zhusup Balasagyn, and an art exhibition was organized in the lobby of the main building. The concept of the day, titled "Together for a Sustainable Future", is to encourage collective action towards a sustainable future by reducing waste and conserving natural resources. The event was attended by students of Bishkek educational institutions and environmental activists. After the opening of the event in a large conference hall, eco-activist Ismail Karypov showed a documentary film "Protection of Nature" about the fight against litter at the bottom of Issyk-Kul.
