Tolobek Abdyrakhmanov received the UNESCO-ICHEI Program Manager

On November 16, 2023 the Rector of KNU Tolobek Abdyrakhmanov received the program manager of UNESCO-ICHEI, Mr. Tim Tang, who arrived at the National University to install and configure the equipment received as part of the “Smart Classroom” project, as well as to conduct a series of trainings for IT specialists and teachers. Having warmly welcomed Mr. Tang to KNU, the Rector expressed his deep gratitude to him for the smart class provided. “The most important now is to launch it,” noted Tolobek Abdyrakhmanov, “After the launch, we need to train our teachers on how to work in a smart class. I would ask you to work well and closely with them so that there are no problems after you leave. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to come in at any time”.

 

A welcoming ceremony for 1st year students was held at the Sports Hall

On November 15, 2023 the traditional ceremony of welcoming the 1st year students of KNU, was held at the Kozhomkul Sports Hall. Rector Tolobek Abdyrakhmanov opened the ceremonial event organized by the Department of Youth Policy and Sports and the Institute of Journalism and Communication. He congratulated the 1st-year students who had just entered the National University and wished them good luck. Then, one of the 1-year students of the Law Institute, Jumabaev Mayrambek, was handed with a symbolic “Student Card”.

 

Rector received a delegation from the Law Institute of Xinjiang University

On November 15, 2023 KNU Rector Tolobek Abdyrakhmanov received a delegation from the Law Institute of Xinjiang University, headed by Deputy Director Mr. Wang Qingsong. At the meeting in the conference room of the Rector’s office, the parties discussed issues of further strengthening ties between the Kyrgyz National University and Xinjiang University in the field of academic mobility. The members of the delegation were introduced by Baytik Buzurmankulov, Associate professor of the Department of Criminal Procedure and Forensic Expertise of the Law Institute.

 

The sportsmen of KNU are winning big victories!

Bakyt Kadyrov, a teacher of the Interfaculty Department of Physical Education and Sports, took part in the world jiu-jitsu championship held in Daugavpils, Latvia on November 10-12, 2023 in the 85 kg weight category and won the championship title. Ainuska Kalil, a student of the Faculty of Biology and a member of the national team of the Kyrgyz Republic in athletics, won the 1st place in the Asian half-marathon championship held in Dubai on November 11 this year. The team of the Department warmly congratulates the sportsmen of KNU on their victories in competitions!

 

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Guatemala visited KNU

On November 10, 2023 the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Guatemala to the Kyrgyz Republic, Mr. Jairo David Estrada Barrios, visited KNU. During the meeting with the Rector Tolobek Abdyrakhmanov, issues of establishing cooperation between the National University and Guatemalan universities in the field of academic mobility of students and undergraduates were discussed. The meeting, organized with the assistance of the Department of International Cooperation and Relations, was also attended by: Advisor to the Ambassador of Guatemala to the Kyrgyz Republic Stephanie Garcia Hernandez de Elbay, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work Nazarkul Ishekeyev, Vice-Rector for Administrative and Economic Affairs Bakytbek Aytakhunov, and Head of the Educational Department Almaz Kydyraliev.

 

Science Day was celebrated at the National University

On November 10, 2023 the Kyrgyz National University hosted Republican Scientific and Experimental Conference “The Role of Artificial Intelligence in the Development of Education and Science” on the occasion of the International Day of Science. The Conference was organized by the Institute of Computer Technologies and Artificial Intelligence. Before the Conference started, its participants got the opportunity to visit the exhibition organized in the entrance hall. There, representatives of higher educational institutions of the city presented the instruments, devices and various models in the field of science that they had developed.

 

The expert of the Ministry of education held a seminar on “Scopus”

On October 27, 2023 another seminar focused on the methods of working with scientific databases was held in room 218 of educational building No5. Faculty of foreign languages, Kyrgyz philology, Russian and Slavic philology and teaching staff of the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities attended the meeting. Vice-rector for scientific affairs Nazarkul Ishekeev, while opening the seminar, noted that the main goal of the university via such kind of activities is to increase the academic success of our university, improve research activities, rise to the national and international level, publish and improve articles in Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar, RINC databases. He also emphasized the need to give foremost importance to these activities.

 

President of Russian State Humanitarian University, Academician Efim Iosifovich Pivovar visited KNU

On October 27, 2023 the Rector of KNU Tolobek Abdyrakhmanov received the President of the Russian State Humanitarian University, head of the history section of the department of historical and philological sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, doctor of historical sciences, professor Efim Iosifovich Pivovar. At the meeting in the conference room of the Rector’s office, the parties discussed issues of further development of constructive and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two universities.

 

The exhibition “Education and career in the field of AML/CFT” was held at KNU

On October 25, 2023 the exhibition “Education and Career in the field of AML/CFT” was held at the Large Conference Hall of the main building. It was organized by the International Network Institute (INI) and the International Educational and Methodological Center for Financial Monitoring (IEMCFM). The organizers and visitors of the exhibition were welcomed by the Chairman of the State Service on Financial Intelligence department under the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic Kanat Asangulov, the Rector of KNU Tolobek Abdyrakhmanov, the First Deputy General Director of the International Educational and Methodological Center for Financial Monitoring Oleg Ivanov, and Doctor of Economics, Professor of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University Mukash Israilov.

 

A volunteer from Japan conducted a master class for students of the Faculty of International Relations and Oriental Studies

On October 23, 2023 a volunteer from Kwansei Gakuin University (Japan), Nakasone Kana, held a master class for students of the Faculty of International Relations and Oriental Studies at the Japan Center of the Faculty (room 309a). The first lesson was dedicated to the unique culture of Japan – calligraphy, and was held entirely in Japanese. It should be noted that Nakasone Kana is working on a dissertation on Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia, and is interested in the problems of developing countries and international relations in the Central Asian region.

 

Erasmus+ KA-17 Credit Mobility program extended until 2026

The Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn has been working on Erasmus + KA-107 Credit Mobility with the University of Poitiers (France) since 2018. During the period of cooperation within the framework of this program, it was achieved that more than 50 KNU students studied at the University of Poitiers and more than 20 Kyrgyz European faculty (KEF) students completed the “Economics and Management” program with a “double diploma”; was organized a summer school for teaching French language. Fruitful work on this program made it possible to extend the validity of this agreement until 2026. Since 2023, Osh State University has also joined this program.

 

A book about Chyngyz Aitmatov by Azerbaijani historian Teymur Ataev is presented to KNU

00On October 18, 2023 Azerbaijani publicist, historian, political scientist, theologian Teymur Oktay ogly Ataev and the Special and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Azerbaijan Republic, Honored Lawyer of the Kyrgyz Republic, Professor Kairat Osmonaliev visited the National University. During the meeting with Rector Tolobek Abdyrakhmanov such issues as the book written by Teymur Ataev "Chyngyz Aitmatov and modernity. On the hopes and future of humanity" and issues of expanding cooperation between the Kyrgyz National University and universities of the Republic of Azerbaijan were discussed.

 

The Ambassador of France arrived at KNU

On October 16, 2023 the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Kyrgyzstan, Monsieur François Delahousse, arrived at the National University. During the meeting with the Rector Tolebek Abdyrakhmanov, the parties discussed issues of improving cooperation between the Embassy and the National University. At the end of the meeting, Monsieur Delahousse presented the rector with the badge of the French Alliance in Bishkek. The Rector expressed deep gratitude to the Ambassador of France for his attention to the National University, especially to its students and undergraduates, and noted that it is with the support of Mr. François Delahousse that the Erasmus+ project at the National University has been extended for another 3 years. “Dear Mr. Ambassador, we will continue to work with you while you are in Kyrgyzstan”, - said Tolebek Abdyrakhmanov.

 

The Rector received psychologists from America

On October 9, 2023 Rector of KNU Tolebek Abdyrakhmanov received a group of psychologists from Michigan, USA. At the beginning of the meeting, the director of the Institute of Social and Humanitarian Sciences, Myrzabek Kamchybek uulu, introduced the members of the delegation and informed on the purpose of their visit to Kyrgyzstan. According to him, a group led by Jonathan Williams visited Kyrgyzstan last year and conducted a series of guest lectures on psychology to the Institute students. This time the psychologists will conduct master classes such topics as suicide, stress management, violence and sand therapy.

 

Director of the Institute of Fundamental Sciences Amantur Ryspayev attended a training course on artificial intelligence in Istanbul

00 ifnOn June 12-17, 2023, Director of the Institute of Fundamental Sciences Amantur Ryspaev completed a training course on artificial intelligence in Istanbul, Republic of Turkey. As part of the trip, he visited Istanbul Technical University «Arı Teknokent», which is considered the second incubation center in Europe, «Bilişim Vadisi» in the Silicon Valley of Turkey, «TOGG» to research the design of Turkish electric car, «Baykar Makina» to develop technology in the field of defense.  «Türkiye Teknoloji Takımı Deneyap Atölyeleri», «DD Tech», «Kodris», «Fimple» are the most advanced technology parks in Turkey. The training course was organized jointly with the High-Tech Park of the Kyrgyz Republic, «Ulut Soft» and the Eurasia Business Club under the leadership of Mr. Mirbek Okenov, President of «Ulut Soft». Ulut Soft, Digital Project, PetaByte, Nur-Khan IT companies, etc. The Russian company «DIGI» and representatives of the education sector took part. They got acquainted with the important factors of Turkey's technological development and had the opportunity to conclude contracts.
