LATEST NEWS AT KYRGYZ NATIONAL UNIVERSITY

On April 11, 2024 KNU was visited by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Kyrgyzstan, Mr. Sandor Dorogi. The permanent diplomatic representative of the Central European state was received by the Rector of KNU Tolobek Abdyrakhmanov. During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of establishing cooperation between the Kyrgyz National University and Hungarian universities in the field of education and science.

On April 9, 2024 Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Jenish Beksultanov received a senior researcher at the Japanese Cabinet Secretariat for Science, Technology and Innovation Policy, as well as a special adviser to the President, professor of the Department of Science, Technology, Innovation and the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Nagaoka University of Technology (Nigata) Mr. Tadachiku Nakayama and a representative of IBSysytem Co. Shigeru Wakakuwa.

On April 5, 2024 the Rector of KNU Tolobek Abdrakhmanov received the Director of the Institute of China and Modern Asia of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Kirill Babaev. During the meeting, they discussed cooperation between the two universities in various areas, including the exchange of scientific personnel, conducting joint scientific research and publications, organizing joint events (conferences, round tables, summer schools, exchange of lecturers), as well as the development of educational cooperation, including participation in dissertation advice of foreign scientists, and the issues of students and teachers exchange. 

On April 4, 2024 Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Jenish Beksultanov received the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Novosibirsk State Technical University, Sergei Sergeevich Chernov. During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of cooperation between the two universities in the field of higher education, including joint educational programs, student exchange, research cooperation and academic exchanges. They also discussed the possibilities of developing educational programs in the fields of artificial intelligence and information technology, as well as strategies for improving the preparation of applicants through cooperation with schools. 

On April 3, 2024 the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Head of the Administration of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Akylbek Japarov gave a lecture to students and faculty members of the Kyrgyz National University in the large conference hall of the main building. Students of Osh State University and Osh Technical University also took part in the event online. The Head of the Cabinet of Ministers spoke about world economic trends, priority areas of the government's work, reforms carried out in the country, implementation of strategic infrastructure projects and plans of the Cabinet of Ministers for 2024. 

On March 28, 2024 the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Kyrgyzstan, Ms. Du Dewen, met with students of the Kyrgyz-Chinese Institute and the Faculty of International Relations and Oriental Studies.  Ms. Ambassador gave a guest lecture on the topic “Creation of a community of common humanity is the noble goal of China’s diplomacy”. Rector Tolobek Abdyrakhmanov opened the event and expressed his pleasure to see Mrs. Du Dewen at the National University and thanked her for taking the time to give a lecture to the students.

On March 28, 2024 the final meeting of members of the external expert commission on international program accreditation of the master's educational programs of KNU took place. The following directions were examined: 581000 Marketing, 540200 Social Work, 532300 Chinese Studies, 710200 Information Systems and Technologies, 710400 Software Engineering, and 510300 Information Technologies. The event was opened by Eric Esentaev - the Director of the Independent Accreditation Agency of the Kyrgyz Republic "Bilim-Standart" who then gave the word to Galina Motova - the Director of the National Center for Professional Social Accreditation of the Russian Federation.

On March 14, 2024 Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Jenish Beksultanov received the Regional Director of the Interuniversity Agency of Francophonie, Mr. Mohamed Ketatu. During the meeting, the parties discussed key issues of deepening the relationship between the IUAF and KNU, as well as the possibilities of joint work. The Vice-rector expressed his readiness for further cooperation and emphasized the importance of sharing experience and knowledge.

On March 12, 2024 the Rector Tolebek Abdyrakhmanov met with Sultan Raev, the Secretary General of the international TURKSOY organization, and discussed the directions and possibilities of cooperation between the organization uniting the fraternal Turkish peoples and the National University. Sultan Raev pointed out that the main goal of the TURKSOY organization is to preserve historical values, spread culture and history among young people, and interest in historical heritage.

On March 6, 2024 the Special and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Kyrgyzstan Mr. Golam Hossein Yadegari came to the National University. During the meeting with Rector Tolobek Abdyrakhmanov, the parties discussed issues related to the improvement of cooperation between the Embassy and KNU and the opening of the Iran Center in the future. The meeting was attended by Chairperson of the Kyrgyzstan Women’s Congress Zamira Akbagysheva, Director of the Institute of History and Regional Studies Turatbek Syrdabaev, Director of the International Cooperation and Relations Department Bakyt Keldibekov.

On March 2, 2024 the Rector Tolobek Abdyrakhmanov met with students who are going to study at the Commerce Institute of Xinjiang Pedagogical University as part of the academic mobility program. First, the Director of the Higher School of Economics, Erkin Kulova, gave brief information about the program and their preparation, and then the students introduced themselves. The Rector wished the students to go safely, study well, show the National University in a positive light, gain deep knowledge and rich experience.

On February 26, 2024 at the Center of digital technologies, the Department of International Cooperation and Relations organized an online meeting between the Rector of KNU Tolobek Abdyrakhmanov and the President of Keimyung University (Republic of Korea), Mr. Synn Ilhi. At the meeting, issues of implementing a joint project to introduce the teaching of artificial intelligence at the Institute of Computer Technologies and Artificial Intelligence were discussed. Tolobek Abdyrakhmanov thanked Mr. Synn Ilhi for his special attention to the development of friendly relations between the two partner universities and for his significant contribution to strengthening the material and technical base of KNU.

On February 22, 2024 the Department of International Cooperation and Relations organized a meeting between the Rector of KNU Tolobek Abdyrakhmanov and students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, the Faculty of International Relations and Oriental Studies, the Institute of Management and Business, the Institute of Computer Technologies and Artificial Intelligence, who won the application process to study at the Hanbat National University (HBNU), during the spring semester in 2023-2024 academic year.

On February 21, 2024 the Rector Tolobek Abdyrakhmanov received representatives of WSB University from Poland, led by Deputy Director for International Relations of the university, Ms. Iwona Blaoui. The parties discussed the prospects for cooperation between the 2 universities in the field of double diplomas during the meeting. At the beginning of the meeting, Ms. Iwona Blaoui spoke about her university. According to her, WSB University ranks first in internationalization among public and non-state universities in Poland. Students from 90 countries study here, and the university has international accreditation. “Many teachers are heads of various enterprises and organizations. Students find work while still studying at university. We would like to cooperate with you, especially in the field of management,” said the Deputy Director of WSB University for International Relations.

On February 20, 2024 the Rector Tolobek Abdyrakhmanov met with Aktoty Raimkulova, President of the Turkish Culture and Heritage Foundation. The Rector expressed his pleasure to see the guests, and emphasized that the National University works with a number of foreign schools and programs, and that he hopes to cooperate with the Turkish organization as well. The Pesident of the Turkish Culture and Heritage Foundation thanked the University community and the Rector for their hospitality, and said that the activities of the organization headed by her are aimed at the growth and development of young people.
