On June 14, 2024 the Rector Tolobek Abdyrakhmanov received the President of Nanjing Institute of Technology Mr. Zhang Yanfei. During the meeting, issues of cooperation between KNU and NTI were discussed, and a corresponding memorandum was signed. Tolobek Abdyrakhmanov expressed his happiness to welcome guests from the Nanjing Institute of Technology and said, “We are very happy to cooperate with you. The National University is one of the largest universities in Kyrgyzstan. Opportunities for cooperation are wide. I think that we will continue our communications, come to an agreement and cooperate well,” he said.

After the Vice-Rector for academic affairs, Jenish Beksultanov, gave detailed information about the majors, directions, and study process at the National University, Mr. Zhang Yanfei, the President of the Nanjing Institute of Technology, made a speech and thanked the Rector for his kind words, saying, “In Chinese, this kind of relationship is called “kin relationship”. I am very happy to cooperate with your university. Although our institute is called ‘technological’, humanitarian directions are also very important,” he said.

After the negotiations, Mr. Tolobek Abdyrakhmanov and Mr. Zhang Yanfei signed a Memorandum of cooperation between Kyrgyz National University and Nanjing Institute of Technology.

The meeting was also attended by: Mr. Hao Sipeng – Director of Graduate School of NTI, Ms. Ba Zhixin – Dean of Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering, Mr. Liang Shaohua – Dean of Faculty of Energy and Power Engineering, Ms. Liu Haitao – Dean of Faculty of Electric Power, Ms. Qi Fan – Head of International Cooperation and Exchanges Department, Kaniet Kurmanbek – International Cooperation and Exchanges Department employee, Jenish Beksultanov – Vice-Rector for educational affairs of KNU, Almazbek Kydyraliev – Head of the education department, and Bakyt Keldibekov – Director of the department of international cooperation and relations.

After that, representatives of the Nanjing Institute of Technology visited the Kyrgyz-Chinese Institute.
