On April 5, 2024 the Rector of KNU Tolobek Abdrakhmanov received the Director of the Institute of China and Modern Asia of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Kirill Babaev. During the meeting, they discussed cooperation between the two universities in various areas, including the exchange of scientific personnel, conducting joint scientific research and publications, organizing joint events (conferences, round tables, summer schools, exchange of lecturers), as well as the development of educational cooperation, including participation in dissertation advice of foreign scientists, and the issues of students and teachers exchange. 

At the end of the meeting, both parties expressed their readiness to cooperate and signed a Cooperation Agreement. Tolobek Abdrakhmanov expressed his hope for fruitful and successful cooperation in the future. 

The meeting was also attended by: Dmitry Novikov - Head and leading researcher of the Center for Central Asian Studies, Alexandra Perminova - Deputy Head of the Center for Central Asian Studies, Bakyt Keldibekov - Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Relations, Jyldyz Usenbaeva - Director of the Confucius Institute of KNU from the Kyrgyz side, Turatbek Syrdybaev – Director of the Institute of History and Regional Studies.
