On February 1, 2024 the Rector Tolobek Abdrakhmanov received the Head of the Department of Russian Language and Literature of Pusan National University Jan Min Chone. The Rector expressed his happiness to meet the Korean representative at the National University, and get familiarized with the Kyrgyz people, the culture, culture and history. Jan Min Chone thanked the Rector and university representatives for the warm welcome, and said the Pusan National University was ready to continue cooperation. 

Tamara Simonovich, Director of the Academy of Languages, informed that in the framework of the bilateral agreement between the universities 20 students are expected to arrive at KNU for two-week language course. Presently, 9 students have alredy arrived, another 11 students are expected in the nearby future. The course has started two days before. The level of students' language proficiency was determined via the level test before the course started. In addition to language training, the culture and history of the local population would be taught via special tours. The teacers who are engaged in the course are highly experienced in teaching to foreign students. The two sides mutually noted that the language is a bridge for communication, and learning languages and culture contribute to the improvement of friendships and help improve relations. 

During the meeting, Tolobek Abdrakhmanov and Jan Min Chone expressed their mutual interest in the exchange of students, joint programs and double diploma programs, and other issues. 

Also at the event were: Vice-Rector for Administrative and Economic Affairs Bakytbek Aitahunov, Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Relations Bakyt Keldibekov, and teacher of the Faculty of Foreign Languages Kanybek Oljobayev.
