At the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic held on December 22, 2023 September 21 was approved as Jusup Balasagyn Day, and from now on, this day is celebrated every year. This decision was taken by the Kyrgyz Government in order to preserve, develop and spread the works of the great thinker. This decision of the Cabinet of Ministers is particularly pleasant news for the community of the Kyrgyz National University, which has been named after Jusup Balasagyn since 2002. The great thinker said, “Reading is a candle in front of you at night. If you get knowledge, it will shine brightly!” His words are always remembered by the students and teaching staff of the university.

Let us remind you that Jusup Balasagyn is a Turkish poet and thinker who lived in the 11th century in the state of the Karakhanids, in the cities of Kashkar and Balasagyn (Burana settlement near Tokmok). Author of the poem “Kutadgu Bilig”.
