On November 16, 2023 the Rector of KNU Tolobek Abdyrakhmanov received the program manager of UNESCO-ICHEI, Mr. Tim Tang, who arrived at the National University to install and configure the equipment received as part of the “Smart Classroom” project, as well as to conduct a series of trainings for IT specialists and teachers. Having warmly welcomed Mr. Tang to KNU, the Rector expressed his deep gratitude to him for the smart class provided. “The most important now is to launch it,” noted Tolobek Abdyrakhmanov, “After the launch, we need to train our teachers on how to work in a smart class. I would ask you to work well and closely with them so that there are no problems after you leave. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to come in at any time”.

The UNESCO-ICHEI program manager noted that it was an honor for him to meet the Rector of the National University. He further said: “We have begun installing the equipment received and will be preparing it for launch. Currently, 12 smart classes have been launched in Asian and African countries, and we plan to cover universities in about 40 countries. Smart class allows you to unite all teachers of educational institutions into one common network and use all modern technologies that are available, including artificial intelligence, etc. Now it is only the initial stage of the project. In the future, we will begin to work and expand our cooperation with various enterprises that work in the field of artificial intelligence and virtual reality development. Therefore, training of technical staff and teachers is a key stage in the successful implementation of this project. During this week we will complete the installation and testing of all equipment, and next week we will begin the training. I am confident that after completing the training, KNU technical staff will have all the necessary knowledge to provide technical support for this project. In addition, we have created a working group on WhatsApp, which includes me and a number of our technical staff. In this group, issues that arise in the future will be discussed and resolved. After the launch of the project, within 2 months we plan to invite everyone, including both the Kazakh side and the Uzbek side, to get acquainted and further develop our cooperation. Thank you for your support.”

The meeting was also attended by the leading specialist of the KCI, coordinator of UNESCO-ICHEI projects in the Kyrgyz Republic Ulugbek Eresheev. At the end of the meeting Tolobek Abdyrakhmanov wished Mr. Tang a safe stay in Kyrgyzstan and a productive work.
