On November 15, 2023 the traditional ceremony of welcoming the 1st year students of KNU, was held at the Kozhomkul Sports Hall. Rector Tolobek Abdyrakhmanov opened the ceremonial event organized by the Department of Youth Policy and Sports and the Institute of Journalism and Communication. He congratulated the 1st-year students who had just entered the National University and wished them good luck. Then, one of the 1-year students of the Law Institute, Jumabaev Mayrambek, was handed with a symbolic “Student Card”.

The Rector noted that this year the National University took the 1st place in terms of the number of applicants who passed, the 5th place in terms of the average score obtained in the National University, and the 1st place in terms of the absolute score of the National University. “I thank your parents, brothers and sisters who brought you to adulthood and educated you. There are many famous people who graduated from our university. I strongly believe that such excellent people will emerge from among you. If only one out of ten of you sitting in this hall succeeds in your deeds, the future of Kyrgyzstan will be bright. You are the ones who will raise the flag of our country. For that you have to think differently. We, on the other hand, will try to fulfill the expectations of you, your parents, and provide good education and training. Four years go by quickly. During this period, you should get a lot of things achieved in education, creativity, sports, and social work. For that, I ask you to be very active and diligent”, the Rector said.

Wishes and congratulatory words to the students also came from Kunduz Bazakeeva, Dean of the Faculty of state and municipal administration, Kubanychbek Jumabekov, Chairman of the Professional staff committee, and Shirin Kostyuk, Director of the Institute of Journalism and Communication.

Jumabaev Mayrambek, a 1st-year student of the Institute of Law, who has just been an applicant yesterday, who has just started his student life, and obtained a title of “the student of the Kyrgyz National University”, made a vow to use the title for the development of Kyrgyzstan, to continue the traditions of the students of the National University with exemplary behavior, on behalf of today’s students. The celebration continued with a grand program concert. Well-known singers Erlan Andashev, Zari, Omar, Suran Sadybakasov, Sagyn Ergeshov, Aigerim Eshim, Sultan Sadyraliev, Gulzhigit Kalykov, Kairat Primberdiev participated in the concert and presented their art.

Vice-rector for scientific affairs Nazarkul Ishekeev, faculty deans and other heads of structures also took part in the festive event.
