On October 27, 2023 the Rector of KNU Tolobek Abdyrakhmanov received the President of the Russian State Humanitarian University, head of the history section of the department of historical and philological sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, doctor of historical sciences, professor Efim Iosifovich Pivovar. At the meeting in the conference room of the Rector’s office, the parties discussed issues of further development of constructive and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two universities.

The Rector thanked the President of the Russian State Humanitarian University for affording the time and opportunity to visit the Kyrgyz National University and talk with our historians. “KNU cooperates very productively and fruitfully with your university. Members of our academic and teaching staff have recently visited your University and completed internship course there. I know that you personally accepted them. They are very happy about this,” said Tolobek Abdyrakhmanov, and gave the floor to his interlocutor.

Efim Pivovarov noted that it was a great honor for him to be at the Kyrgyz National University. “We have always been and will be happy to promote the study of the history of Kyrgyzstan at the sites of Moscow and other Russian universities. We had a cooperation agreement when I was Rector, and now, during a meeting in Osh, within the framework of the III Forum of Rectors, we extended it. As the President of the Russian State Humanitarian University, I am very interested in cooperation with the Kyrgyz National University, and I hope this cooperation remains a long-term one,” said the President of the Russian State Humanitarian University.

Further, he spoke about his university, its achievements and problems, and also answered questions from those present.
