On October 23, 2023 a volunteer from Kwansei Gakuin University (Japan), Nakasone Kana, held a master class for students of the Faculty of International Relations and Oriental Studies at the Japan Center of the Faculty (room 309a). The first lesson was dedicated to the unique culture of Japan – calligraphy, and was held entirely in Japanese. It should be noted that Nakasone Kana is working on a dissertation on Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia, and is interested in the problems of developing countries and international relations in the Central Asian region.

Next, she conducted a master class on the significance and purpose of traditional Japanese clothing “yukata”. At first glance it always seems easy to dress, but as it turns out, it is very important to choose the right size, color, fabric patterns, as well as traditional makeup, accessories, which means you have to pay attention to every detail of clothing and to how a person looks in the clothes.

And of course such an event has nothing to do without the traditional Japanese dance “Eisa”, one of the forms of folk dance. Representing Japan, Eisa dance expresses the cultural identity of the Japanese people. Nakasone Kana demonstrated the dance and taught the basic dance techniques to the students.

During the lesson, the volunteer answered students' questions. At the end of the lesson, students and teachers of the Japanese language of the Faculty expressed gratitude to Nakasone Kana for a wonderful practical lesson on the culture of Japan.

After the lesson, the issues on cooperation between the Faculty of International Relations and Oriental Studies, and the Japanese Center for Human Resources were discussed, in particular, student mobility and other issues of cooperation in the field of education and culture in Japan.
