On October 9, 2023 Rector of KNU Tolebek Abdyrakhmanov received a group of psychologists from Michigan, USA. At the beginning of the meeting, the director of the Institute of Social and Humanitarian Sciences, Myrzabek Kamchybek uulu, introduced the members of the delegation and informed on the purpose of their visit to Kyrgyzstan. According to him, a group led by Jonathan Williams visited Kyrgyzstan last year and conducted a series of guest lectures on psychology to the Institute students. This time the psychologists will conduct master classes such topics as suicide, stress management, violence and sand therapy.

The Rector noted that he is aware of the last year visit and lecturing of American psychologists. He also noted that the classes were held at a high level and left a positive impression on KNU students. "In regard to the current geopolitical situation in the world, your visit to Kyrgyz National University is important for me personally as a historian, and for my colleagues as well. This is a very pleasant event for our students and graduates. Such lectures should be given not only to students, but also to teaching staff. If I have time, I will try to participate in your lessons too. Of course, I think that our cooperation will continue. Therefore, we will send you an invitation next year", said Rector Tolebek Abdyrakhmanov.

American psychologists thanked the Rector for his kind words and noted that the students of the National University are very active and educated, so this time they will have more practical classes.

After the meeting with the Rector, American psychologists Denis Chistwood, Steve Wheeler, Joseph Gardner and Anika Casper went to the assembly hall of academic building 5 and started their training seminars for students.

Classes will continue until October 11, 2023.
