On June 20, 2023, the Youth Electoral Summer School "Elections in the Digital Age" began its work in the conference hall of the KNU boarding house on the shore of Lake Issyk-Kul. Analytical support and methodological support of IESS is provided by the International Institute for Monitoring the Development of Democracy, Parliamentarism and Observance of the electoral rights of citizens of the participating states of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly,its Bishkek branch and the Institute of History and Regional Studies of the KNU  named after J. Balasagyn.

More than 35 students and undergraduates from universities in Russia and Kyrgyzstan take part in the Summer School for Young Scientists: Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov, Saratov State Law Academy, Osh State University, Bishkek State University named after K. Karasaev, Issyk-Kul State University named after K. Tynystanov and the Kyrgyz National University named after  J. Balasagyn.

The five-day program of the Summer School provides, first of all, a scientific and educational program, which includes lectures, discussions, project sessions and interactive workshops from leading scientists and experts: I.I. Mushket, R.A. Amburtsev, R.A. Romashov, S. Syrgabaev and others.

The school and  congratulations were opened  and made by:

•Mushket I.I. – deputy head of the Secretariat Council of the Interparliamentary Assembly of CIS, Director of the International Institute for Democracy Monitoring, the Interparliamentary Assembly of CIS, Doctor of Law, Professor;

•Abdyrakhmanov T.A. - Rector of the Kyrgyz National University named after Balasagyn, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of the  National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic (video message);

•Mursabekov I.M. - Director of the Bishkek branch of the International Institute for Democracy Monitoring, the Interparliamentary Assembly of CIS;

•Amburtsev R.A. - Head of Analytics and Election Monitoring Department of  the International Institute for Democracy Monitoring, the Interparliamentary Assembly of CIS

•Syrdybaev T.T. - Director of the Institute of History and Regional Studies of the KNUnamed after J. Balasagyn, candidate of historical sciences, professor.

Roman Anatolyevich Romashov Doctor of Law, Professor, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation gave a lecture-discussion on "The Convention on Standards for Democratic Elections, Electoral Rights and Freedoms in the CIS Member States" at the event.

Samar Syrgabaev head of Department of Sociology and Political and Legal Disciplines of the Bishkek State University named after K. Karasaev, Ph.D., Associate Professor gave a lecture on "The main vectors of changes in political and civic activity in the Kyrgyz Republic". He spoke about the trends in political and civic activity in the context of the rapid development of democracy in Kyrgyzstan.

The event will last until June 25.
