On June 8, 2023, an international scientific conference “Political, socio-economic and ethno-cultural processes in Eurasia in the medieval period” was held at the LAH of the main building, organized by the Kyrgyz National University named after J. Balasagyn and SEC of Altaistics and Turkology "Great Altai" of Altai State University. The moderators of the meeting were: acting Director of the Institute of History and Regional Studies of the KNU Turatbek Syrdybaev and Head of the Department of Oriental Studies of Altai State University Yulia Lysenko. The participants of the event were welcomed by the rector of KNU Tolobek Abdyrakhmanov. He expressed his gratitude to all the guests who took the time to attend the conference. Then he added: - The ideas, goals and objectives of the conference are very relevant and important. I think that today interesting proposals and important decisions will be made. I hope that today's scientific forum will contribute to the development of the Great Altai project. The rector also thanked the president of Altai State University Sergey Zemlyukow and the former rector, now adviser to the rector Kanat Sadykov for their contribution to the opening of the Representative Center of the SEC of Altaic and Turkic Studies at KNU.

After, the participants of the conference honored the memory of the Russian Orientalist, Professor, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Honored Scientist of the Kyrgyz Republic, holder of the Order of Manas, III degree Viktor Yakovlevich Butanaev, who passed away on June 5, with a minute of silence.

Further, Advisor to the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Arslan Kapay uulu delivered a welcoming speech. He said: - Today on the Kyrgyz land is a big holiday for historians, Turkologists and Altaists, because the theme of Altai for all Turkic peoples - especially for the Kyrgyz - is a very important and sacred topic. The authorities of Kyrgyzstan attach great importance to the study of history and Turkic studies. Evidence of this is the creation and functioning under the administration of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic of the Fund for the historical and cultural heritage of the people of Kyrgyzstan "Muras". I think there will be interesting and useful scientific reports at the plenary session of the conference. I ask you to pay attention to them. I wish you success in the work of the conference.

“Today, an important, significant, deeply meaningful event is taking place within the walls of the National University of the Kyrgyz Republic, where leading historians, archaeologists, turkologists representing universities from all countries of Central Asia are,” began his speech Sergei Zemlukow, head of the Great Altai Research and SEC for Altaic and Turkic Studies, President of the Altai State University.- Dear Tolobek Abylovich, thank you for organizing such an event and for inviting an excellent team of scientists with whom we have been working for a long time and keeping in touch. Then he spoke about the projects that are being implemented with KNU named after J. Balasagyn and events that were held jointly with him. - Hopefully, we will continue to strengthen and carry out the traditions that were laid on the Kyrgyz land. I hope that in the course of our work and communication we will find other forms of our cooperation between our universities and our countries. Valikhanov of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ziyabek Kabuldinov, Vice-President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan Daniya Zagidullina and Director of the Institute of History, Archeology and Ethnology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic Abylabek Asankanov.

• Tishkin Aleksey Alekseevich - Doctor of History, Professor of Altai State University: "Peculiarities of interethnic integration of the nomadic and agricultural population in the early Middle Ages (based on the results of studying the Shahidon monument in Tajikistan)"

• Tabaldiev Kubat Shakievich - Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of the Kyrgyz-Turkish "Manas" University: "Archaeological monuments of the Turks of Altai and Tenir-Too (Tien Shan)"

• Tashagyl Ahmed - Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor (Turkey): "The Formation of Oghuz associations and its historical significance"

• Syzdykova Zhibek Saparbekovna - Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of the Institute of Asian and African Countries, Moscow State University named after M. Lomonosov: "Cities of Central Asia on the Great Silk Road".

After the signing of the Agreement on the opening of the Representative Center of the SEC of Altaic and Turkic Studies "Great Altai" at KNU by the heads of two universities, Tolobek Abdyrakhmanov and Sergey Zemlyukow, the ceremony of awarding the diploma "Honorary Professor of KNU named after J. Balasagyn" to President of AltSU Zemlyukov Sergey Valentinovich also took place there. The decision of the Academic Council of KNU dated March 23, 2022 on conferring this title was read out by the adviser to the rector Kanat Sadykov, and the diploma and academic gown were presented by the rector of KNU Tolobek Abdyrakhmanov.

On the same day, there was opened the Representative Center of the SEC of Altaic and Turkic Studies "Great Altai" of Altai State University on the basis of the Department of Regional Studies and Kyrgyz Studies of the Institute of History and Regional Studies. The red ribbon in front of the RC was cut by the rector of KNU Tolobek Abdyrakhmanov and the head of the SEC of Altaic and Turkic studies "Great Altai", the president of Altai State University Sergey Zemlukow.
